Hi-
We have a used and out of commission organ. We have no use for it and it cost more to fix than what it's worth. We've had no luck getting rid of it/ selling it. New, this organ would be priced at 40 grand. We don't know what to do. Could you help us? We are located in Lemont, IL. Please send us a reply. Thanks!!

Tom--I'm in the Dakotas but have family in Washington. How old are the pianos you're considering parting out?

I have an old piano in the second floor apartment of my home. It was here when I bought th house 23 years ago. Looks like early 1900's in good condition. The thing is it would have to be taken apart to get down the stairs. The front stairway is too curved (house built in 1880) , and the stairway in th back which goes down to the garage is not sturdy enough. Are you connected to Michael Frassinelli? I got this site from an article about him in our weekend paper.

What area do you operate in? I have two pianos in the Tacoma WA area that need to find a home and I would prefer not to bring them straight to a junk yard.

I'm looking for an old set of pedals from an upright piano. My sustain pedal was damaged during our last move, and I'd rather replace the pedals with a set of similar age to the piano than with new ones (more character!).

Please let me know if you'd consider selling me a set from one of the pianos you cannibalize.

Thanks,

This is weird. I, to, am a member of a piano tribe. Originally from Scotland and Sweden, we settled on the north shore of the Big Sur in California. We are known as the ivoryao. We are a resourceful, creative people who honor our gods by ceating modern works of art from ivory piano keys. Our finished pieces appear in galleries in , Carmel by the Sea as well as in group shows at the San Francisco Museum of Art. We would love nothing more than to find a steady supply of ivory piano keys so we can keep on making our ivory art. Please let us know how we in the Monterey Bay Area of California can contribute to the good of all our brethren and their tribes and secure a steady supply of ivories for us, the Ivoryoa.

Yours in Piano Indian Brotherhood,

Genevive wrote us from San Francisco area:

Can anyone help?

I was delighted to see that you are in the business of piano recycling and refurbishing. Do you know of any similar businesses or individuals who might be in the S.F. Bay Area? I actually live in Santa Rosa, one hour north of San Francisco. We have a turn-of-the-century piano (two, really, one of which I play) which actually has beautiful wood under the aged finish. I would so much like it to be used by someone, either as a whole or in parts for other items.

Thank you,
Genevieve
